Good luck with the bilbesiktning. I've been reading the requirements and it looks very similar to the UK MoT except you can extend the annual test interval to 14 months.

ok, roads are still cool, and wet and dirty, but I don’t care... all this talk demands action. She’s going out tonight.

unrelated, my 21 yo son asked me to go on a course with him. it runs in the evenings. Call it father-son bonding time. We’re attending a restricted weapons certification course managed by the federal police. What fun.

Out of curiosity is a restricted weapons certification course?

I'm in Michigan in the US, so other than a concealed carry license course, not much is REQUIRED; but a lot of optional training is recommended. I buy blocks of 1:1 NRA instructor time to help with marksmanship since I'm not as good as I'd like.

yeah @80sRule , its different in Canada.
Non restricted weapons are essentially hunting rifles and shotguns (which you need a license for also)
Restricted weapons are “nearly” everything else including handguns.
Prohibited weapons are Automatics and sawed off too short shotguns, oh yeah, and don’t bring your .50 cal up here, etc.

There are also strict rules about the storage and transport of weapons. So, no back gun rack in the back of the Land Rover. Nor are weapons allowed to be loaded unless on the range or hunting, etc.

I’d like to see the MOT certification here... it would clear all the junk off the road.

Hopefully you achieved this success without the need for any weapons training.
