A bit of a detail, but maybe useful for some. My fuel cap tether wasn't fastened with the proper fastener so it was coming off every now and then. Replaced it (XR811158) with, what to me, was the proper one (C2S8409). It now tight and secure. Strange that on the JEPC both part numbers are shown (near each other). One shown in the attachment is the C2S8409.

 

Which of the two holes near the gas cap is used to install the turnbuckle? Thks (2010 XK)

Apparently the bottom hole is intended to open the fuel flap in case it's stuck. Access from under the wheel arch, using a long screwdriver or something of the sort.

I tried the part number Google earlier without success. Found it on SNG Barratt. No discount needed. It’s 3.95 ;-) sure won’t be the last part.
