how to open boot with dead battery
I am sure this has been covered but I just cannot find the answer by searching
This morning I went to leave and my battery was dead. It was so ded no dash lights were on, the horndidnt work etc.
When I came home I went to charge the battery but son realized I could not open the boot. To make matters worse, I keep my manual in the boot( to save space in the glove compartment)
I remember reading of a charging post in the drivers side rear wheelewell but I looked and did not see one. There is not much space with 20 inch wheels anyway
I would prefer not having to connect to th starter or alternator
Anyone have a similar experience?
Thanks
Jerry

When you have removed the key from the fob the keyhole for the trunk is behind the number plate. Yes, there is a charging point at the rear left-hand corner. I think that it has a rubber cap on it. The negative connection should go to a suitable earth point.
See post "Battery Charge for Long Lay Ups" for photos and detailed instructions.

This is sooooo timely. I also could not figure out how to get into my trunk. I looked at the photos on the other page and I think I got it. I hope all this is the same for the 2006 model!
