I dunno, sexy and sinister. The red just doesn't have the bad-boy, Shaaag-guaaar-ness.

With both a Liquid Silver XK, and a Claret Red XKR, I have to admit the liquid silver draws more attention. It seems to show off the cars design/lines in both sunshine and rain. The Claret Red is great in direct light, but becomes a flat maroon on cloudy days making her curves and haunches vanish. I was quite disappointed to see this.

My old Audi A4 was very similar to the IRR and I always called it "Look at me" Red. Took many months of ownership to warm up to the color.

The State Patrol calls that color "Ticket Me" red.

That rumor has been pretty much debunked for over 20 years now.

Metallic reds often look wonderfully rich. One popped up when I was looking but it had the odd combination of black wheels (OK with red even though I'm no fan) but cream interior which just did not gel with the dark red and black.

There are some great colours available from almost all manufacturers but boring people still only order black, dark greys and white

And now battleship grey is becoming popular - can it get much duller?

If you are buying used, there is very little choice and, when I was looking at least, the bright-coloured ones went fast as long as they weren't over-priced and none were near me. Funny, the black ones were priced high but sat longest (but they were by far the most common).

I don't mind the white with silver/chrome - it gives it a less aggressive look which suits me - but I would never have ordered white new myself.

Prettiest color I ever owned was a "Fiji Blue" '88 Mitsubishi. Glorious.
I still miss that car...

The Blue XKR shown by JagRag further up this post is close enough to make me drool! I'd trade my Claret Red for it any day of the week!
