Default Navigation Update Disc

2008 XK

Where can I find the best/latest navigation update disc for the X150? Something newer than 2008…

I’ve been doing some digging (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...v-disc-191140/) and it looks like Volvo makes a disc that’s much newer (2017, maybe part no. 31489539 for US?).

But it’s hard to find it.

That part number links to nothing less than $240… AND it seems that is older than the 2017 Australian version pictured on the thread linked above. The thread is also from 2017.

Any source I can find a DVD for a better price, or perhaps a rip (if that’s possible)? Any thoughts appreciated!

My update DVD cost about £20-something and is dated "2019/2020". It came from a UK supplier so maybe pointless mentioning it but contacting them might be worthwhile; perhaps they have a North American affiliate?

Don't waste your time or money trying to update the old nav disks your 2008 XK. The Volvo disk, which was the best solution, is no longer available (but might be available on eBay). Even if it is, those maps are too old to be reliable. You're far better off to use your cellphone with Waze for navigation with real-time traffic alerts.

The other possibility is to do this:

Does anyone know if this will work in a 2013 XKR?

Why not contact the supplier?
How would we know anything about that item?

I do believe something to do with Denso and some other company that the correct Nav unit itself won't take anything newer than 2015. Totally different system.

@colto1000 Your best and least expensive navigation is to use the Waze app on your cellphone, as all Jaguar X150 compatible nav disks are over 10 years old and are obsolete.

Alternatively, you can spend over $1,000 for a Tesla style screen that's made in China. Or a less expensive "Mr 12 Volt" display for 2009-up models .Search the Forum for those threads.

never underestimate the knowledge base on the Forums it includes people that work/ed for Jaguar and probably Denso. That’s why I’m a member as the knowledgable responses never cease to surprise and delight!

It's my understanding that the latest Denso compatible navigation DVD that will work with the Jaguar is the Volvo MMM/P2001 which has a 2016 map database, but I have not tried it in my system.

I use the 2015, from navigation.com, for the 2007 xkr. Typically, updates are maintained for 5 years. The navigation components are now 23 y.o. Expecting a new update is unreasonable.
