Default NavTool backup system

Just had to say I purchased a backup system from NavTool in Aug 2016 waited 7 months after being told it shipped numerous times only to wait and get nothing tried call and using their online chat as well as emails and had no luck
Finally decided enough and tried to get a refund only after 3 attempts to contact them they said can't refund already shipped
waited another week and I get a ups tracking number and delivery of a unit with no name on it a bunch of wires and no instructions on how to put this in a 2008 XK so back to customer service no replies from them in 4 days and the online chat said they will email some. To which I never received checked my smam mail as well and nothing. Another attempt and I get an email that they will email it soon really why not just email it now
so anyone thinking about using NAVTOOL I would suggest you go with another company Seems the have 0 customer service and are impossible to reach by phone

thanks for listening feed up with service today

Take a picture of the module and upload it here so we can see the model and model number. Maybe someone has the instructions.

+1, post some pictures. I am pretty sure there is only one unit for the XK that everyone sells. We probably can help you here on the forum to get it installed.

Hmm, it does look like their's is different than the rest. Did they send generic instructions not tied to a particular car model?

Had a similar experience with them.
I order the product in January 2015, and they said it would ship in 4 weeks.
4 weeks went by, and I saw/heard nothing. The online order status continued to say 'will ship in 4 weeks'. Contacted them by chat, same response.
So I continued to contact them every 4 weeks, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, ...
In one phone call with them, they said they had received units from their manufacturer in China, but the quality wasn't up to their standards, and they were waiting for a new shipment.
By October (2015) I decided to go with the HKS Camp2 installation to get gauges on my infotainment screen, and the GVIF unit was the same as what Steve (WhiteXKR) was going to use for his backup camera solution, so I went ahead an installed it, and a camera in Nov 2015.
In Jan 2016 (IIRC) I get a call, out of the blue from NavTool, saying they finally had the units in stock, and asked if I wanted to proceed with my order, or cancel it! Without thinking, I said cancel, as I already had a backup camera solution. A few days later I kind of regretted that, thinking I could have compared the two solutions.
Guess they haven't changed much, and now I don't feel so bad about not continuing to business with them.
I can't find it on their website now, goes to a blank page for that product.
Curious as to their current pricing. The one I was signed up for was $225 including shipping.

With the USB and HDMI ports on the box you got, it kind of reminds me of the Android Media Box that Sean W used to implement his gauge screen solution:

What do the wiring harnesses look like that you received? Any labels on any wires?

So it looks like a repackaging or a stripped down version of the QDIS GVIF, in that they put the Power/CANBUS and AV connectors onto a single connector to the box. Looks like 4 video inputs and one pair of audio (L/R) inputs.
That 'blue' connector will go to where the car's Nav unit currently plugs in, and the connector you replaced will plug back into the NavTool box. The other end of the 'blue' connector cable will also plug into the NavTool box.
Sorting out the other wires in the big harness will probably require info from NavTool, so you don't end up frying your $250 investment.

It appears you bought the JAGUAR XK/XKR 2007-2015 VIDEO INTERFACE with BUILT-IN HD SMARTPHONE MIRRORING via HDMI

From what I can ascertain, this somehow connects to your phone and the image is mirrored on to the touchscreen. You still need to buy cameras and NAVtool no longer lets you download the instructions so I can't really tell how it works.

That's what I thought as well but then went to their site and found a link to what appears to be a match, but we won't know until he receives the instructions

Ok, reading that product description explains a lot about the extra wires in the harness. There's a 'sense wire' for each of the cameras (front, left, right, rear), along with power and ground for the unit.

So then, why on their Website does it say "Our Products Proudly Built in USA" and something else like Support American Jobs?

Good question. IIRC, at that time, they said they designed them here, and had them manufactured in China.

Angry Nav-Tools

Let me tell you the story on NavTool. Just simple facts, no embellishment.
I ordered Navtool for late model XK(R). After 5 months, no ship, no deliver. But they did charge my credit card fine for $250.

I contacted them numerous times, e-mail and phone. They claimed it would be shipped "soon". Then after 5 months, they claimed "shipped".

I contacted Credit Card Company and asked for refund/cancel charges. Navtool reported that "I picked up unit at their location". They are in NY, I am in SC. Not Likely! But Credit Card company would not refund/cancel since Navtool reported I received it.

I am in the process of getting CC company to refund it, but, I suggest you give serious thought to doing business with them.

Doesn't sound like they have any inventory thus the delay in shipment. I guess my 1st question is does the unit work as described and is it as simple as they say to install. Next would be getting the unit. It almost sounds like until they prove themselves credible you would need to pick up the unit personally at their location. Not a good picture here.
