I will post some photos of the Poltrana clad header frame in my 13 portfolio pack vert tomorrow. It being a convertible there is no leather head lining.
How would a person know if they had it? Is it much different than the alcantara in a vert? Does it really matter?
Well for one it is leather. And it does have stitching throughout. Sadly I have also seen it fail just as easily as fabric. Good news is that it is easier to fix than Alston suede.
But I recall a picture of a headlining ... was it in an Aston Martin, sizeable diamond pattern on swede. SO PRETTY. Can't seem to find it.
Ebay sells a wide variety of diamond-stitched, leather-look upholstery fabrics. Just go to Ebay and search for "Diamond Stitch Embossed Padded Car Upholstery Faux Leather Fabric". Here's a screenshot:
Thanks @Stuart\ S. My car is the classic Jaguar racing green on the outside, caramel with wood trim (I think walnut) on the inside. I'd like to dress up the headliner but I'm at a loss how to proceed. The faux leather doesn't suit me. But neither does the factory finish.
In the search for Poltrona Frau headliners I came across info on an Artisan Edition XK, including this video with the canvas coloured Poltrona bits you are looking for. Exclusive to the UK & Europe, this 2012 limited edition from Jaguar had unique coloured, truffle brown or blue, and Scraffito textured seats, door cards & dash I've never seen before as well as R-S performance seats.
Sadly through I have not yet located any clear photos. But I have included some in warm charcoal so you can see the stitch pattern.

The trials and tribulations of small men...
I am going to be doing something shortly, most likely a true quilting. Using much finer knit, like you would find on a Barbour jacket. And might use wool felt backing as opposed to cheap foam. It is vastly superior in sound absorption and heat insulation.
Will let you know and pass along all tips.
I had real suede headliner- would not again, its too heavy and a sponge for moisture and thus mold.
Thanks Jeremy! Even with it in the ebony colour, I can see how it was done with the stitching.
Something interesting about the sunvisors, as ralphwg showed in his car, the sunvisors were still in Alston Suede, even though the roof lining is leather.
For whatever reason the USA/CAN cars never got leather sunvisors with the leather headlining.
Whereas the ROW cars had leather sunvisors in both Ebony & Canvas, when the leather headlining was specified...
