Does anybody sell Painted calipers for the XK MY 2008.
I've searched but at this point all I can come up with are Caliper painting kits.
Any help in Canada would great
Thanks
I think you may be slightly limited by your location....as am sure far less XK's in mooseland than the U S of A
Here in the UK I can take mine off and send them off to be professionally done for around £400 for 4, however on my old X100 I did it myself with some brake cleaner, wire brush and enamel paint, lasted well for over 5yrs, but is a full days work
Whilst getting the brake-pads replaced I sent mine over to a local auto detailer and for $300US got mine powder coated with contrasting custom jaguar logos included. They look fantastic IMHO. It's been 18mos in a salt environment and they look perfect. Originally I looked at painting and installing decals but decided for the price this was a much better solution.
Ditto. I did mine in place. Turned out really nice and easy to touch up once they get dinged getting the spring on or off. Took a couple hours and less than $40 to do. Picked up some new decals from a Euro eBay vendor that modified his cut program so they fit our design better.

Having used several paint kits over the years i found the easiest and most durable is the por15 caliper paint kits. Cleaned well and using a foam brush did 2 coats per instructions and years later still looks fantastic unlike vht and several other that dont hold up well. It levels out super smooth and leaves no brush stroke marks. Iirc about $20-25 bucks and i have done 2 cars per small can
A quick eBay search shows covers for $199, but EVERY ONE has hideously ugly painted-on rivets. Ghastly.
Agreed. I bought mine from S-Typer who had them custom made by MGP. He had them painted to match the Carbon Ceramic Brakes on the XKR-s and F- Type. They have a metal flake in them.

I’m glad your enjoying those covers Sean. I’m debating painting my calipers on my 2012XKR that same yellow. It’s a great color!! That metallic is awesome.

did those for a customer once with a complete brake job and boy did i get f'd. Snap on the said theyre easy they said. Yeah they snap on and then rattle or scrap slightly and i have to tweek all of them to finally get the car quiet. Which involved reracking the car and taking the wheels on and off. It took me more time to fit those and not make noise than the time to do all the pads and rotors. Plus when they were done imo they looked cheap and looked like what they are, covers. And $200 not cheap for cheap stamped steel from china.

OP, it appears your answers are well detailed above, but if you find a source for pre-finished calipers please let us all know the details.
The calipers should be filed and ground before painting. Cheap looking brakes are a constant through the Jaguar portfolio. Only the SVR has cool looking brakes; the Alcons were decent looking. Maserati and Alfa have much nice looking brakes for relative price point cars.
FYI, I tried the brake caliper wrap, with pretty good results... I did this around February and have had no signs of wear or peeling... Brake dust rinses right off this stuff... And like always completely reversible... Install was a little tedious, but final results were worth it...

Here are some pics of mine that were done at a local shop when I had some other work done earlier this year. He advised against powder coating as their experienced that regular high temp resistant enamel worked better.
