Default Radio has no sound every so often

Once in awhile when I start my car the radio will come on with no sound. The sound works with my cds or blue tooth streaming through a Bovee. The battery is new and car gets driven every day. Any thoughts?

I have had it happen with my xkr using the ipod. The sound will cut out and after a few seconds the sound will come back. On the screen it says" check ipod connection". So I unplugged it and plugged the connection in again. Does this sound like I need a hard reset?

how do you perform a hard reset ? I know in German car you would hold the on/off button down until the radio powered off and after 20 seconds or so it would power back up.

The hard reset is a matter of disconnecting the battery leads, touching the two battery leads together for several seconds and then reconnecting the battery. This process restores all the modules to their original configuration.

a loose ipod cable connection has done this to me once or twice. my cable is just old, and the detents on the port/connector don't do as good a job as they used to.
