Default Radio - no sound

Radio turns on but no sound is coming out, same outcome if you play a CD. Fuses all tested OK. Any thoughts?

Did it just stop working? Premium or standard system? If premium, there is an amp in the boot/trunk above the CD player. Any work gone on that area lately? Suggest you check all connections in that area.

Thank you for your reply. It worked the first few month. The antenna was slightly bent so I kept it in the up position and disconnected the motor. I don’t remember seeing an amp but will check again today.

Fyi amp is on shelf above cd changer.

Do you have "tweeters" in the door's sail? I could be wrong but I think that IDs premium.

"Sail" = the sail shaped triangular area from the of front windows, inches from outside mirrors.

If still no go, please say:
if cd holder loads / unloads properly.
If radio lights up.

I do have an Amp above the cd player. Cd player works and shows track playing. Radio works and shows am fm stations. Just no sound.

I noticed a little water condensation near the AMP so I am taking apart the amp to clean around it.

I had the same symptoms, but no easy way to test the amp.

Ebay had numerous amps for sale with the correct part number, starting at about $35.

For that price I felt I had little to lose and bought the cheapest one on eBay for under $40 including shipping. Luck was with me and the used amp fixed my no-music blues.

worth a try.

After removing the amp and cleaning around it, I plugged everythin back in, also worth mentioning that I reinsreted the power antenna fuse. The sound is back on surprisingly. I am grateful for everyone's replies. This forum rocks.

I’ve had my power antenna fuse pulled for
so long I forgot the antenna is there. Just no need for FM / AM until the apocalypse. And the rest of the sound system is independent from it.

PS perhaps I should mention that the amp worked intermittently for about a year before it died altogether.
