Right wing mirror
Wife greeted me with the news that she’d tagged a trash can with the right side mirror. Glass is shattered, but housing seems intact. From the manual it looks like the glass/carrier plate simply snaps in place after mating the electrical connectors. Anyone done this and have advice?
I've changed the mirror glass on many cars over the years and, in the vast majority of cases, including the X100, it is just a matter of unclipping the glass, usually starting with the vertical edge nearest the car. With the tip of your fingers, push the glass towards the outside edge at the same time as gently pulling it outwards. Pick a warm day or use a hair dryer to warm everything up first and cold plastics are hard plastics.
I always wait until I have the new glass to examine it as that always helps with understanding the clipping mechanism.
