Default Water pump leak.

I am having trouble with find a fix for the water pump bleed off hose.

I keep leaking coolant from right here and every time I start it up a tone of white smoke comes out from around the alternator or under the water pump.

From the picture, it looks like the hose has been worn by contact with metal. So if the hose is leaking, the only fix is to replace it.

I just replace the hose because it was cracked. It is the plastic fitting that is in the water pump for the hose to connect to. That is what's leaking, the hose is fine.

Should there not be a hose clamp on that hose?

I believe he is referring to the other side of what I assume is some kind of barbed fitting that goes inside the hose. Typically you would see a clamp of some sort on the rubber hose, but maybe not?

This little clip sits inside of the water pump, the the little nipple on the hose slide into that pushuing the little arms out to hold it in place. While pulling out the hose the clip pulled out aswell. There is no other clip, attachment or anything.
I am wondering if this is supposed to stay in the water pump with a seal or something.

Not trying to be a smart-****. But after being an engineer for 35 years, I have learned that you always ask the obvious questions first. After all this is the internet and there are all levels of competence out there.

So to better understand your problem, let me re-cap - it seems that the connection where the hose enters the metal housing is leaking. It is not leaking on the hose to plastic connection, rather it is leaking where the fitting enters the housing. Is that correct?

Yes I thought of that after I said that actually. I apologise for that.
Yes sir that is exactly it. Every other forum I go to they say you need to get the new design coolant hose with the new attachment but that doesn't solve the problem because its on the housing like you said. Then others say to just take it to the dealership but I much rather not pay $150 just for them to look at it then who knows how much they will charge for the part. It's also really scarey because every time I start it up white smoke comes pouring out.

So I see the front part of the push-in quick connector. Is there a retainer clip and o-ring still inside the water pump housing? I would think like most quick connect fittings there should be an o-ring to make the seal? Check to make sure that the retainer clip is still there to hold the pipe in place and check that the o-ring is still in place and is not worn-out or damaged...

Do you need #5 per the attached parts catalog exploded parts diagram?
