Buying from some unknown place overseas to save a few bucks and then waiting to receive for a $10 difference is not worth it to me. Should we all be buying stuff from China direct since it is cheaper?

The EBAY sellers will have got it from the same factory or Aliexpress so you are effectively paying someone else to import it for you.
Granted you may conceptually get a little more protection through buying on EBAY or Amazon but I have never had an issue buying off Aliexpress and the car isn't exactly undrivable while you wait for the puddle lights!
You have no idea of what you buy every day that includes components that are made in China.
The active ingredients in virtually every prescription and generic drug you take every day are made in China. Contamination and weaponization of drug supply are serious threats to public health and national security. Google Heparin and Valsartan. Think about what happens if China stops shipping those active ingredients.

Why pay more than you have to?
I pay for the convenience of getting something quickly. No problem with an importer who stocks locally making some money.
EVERYTHING is made in China, I know that very well, nothing wrong with letting a local company make a few bucks.

I've found that quite often it's just Chinese immigrants selling the stuff, possibly even getting shipped to the US to do it. I buy a product that I like ad has good enough quality for my needs. Don't really care where it comes from or how much. When my kid started learning guitar I bought a bunch of cheap Chinese strings since he was breaking them every couple days. Sure beat throwing a new set of $15 strings on.
Installed XKR rear valance ready for the Larini Exhaust arriving tomorrow. Mock fitted XKR-S carbon fiber rear Valance. Seems I’m going to have to send it out to a pro to fit and paint.
I finally got my parking aid sensors and my TPMS working...
This past weekend I took off the front bumper and repaired the crushed wire harness under the right headlight. But to my chagrin, I still had the park assist error and the TPMS error after I buttoned everything up. I was planning on taking the bumper off again this coming weekend, but as I pondered the reasons why things still weren't working, I wondered if I had remembered to plug in the big connector in the left wheel well.
This evening, after I got home from work, I turned the wheel all the way to the right, unscrewed a few Torx screws, and sadly discovered that I DID remember to plug in the connector.
...but then I started fiddling with it. It didn't look like it was plugged in completely. I squeezed it but it didn't want to go together. I checked the pins. They were good. I fiddled some more. I cleaned the plastic. It still wouldn't squeeze together any more than when I started. I sprayed it with silicone and boom! The pieces slipped together by an additional quarter-inch.
That fixed the parking sensors! I'm 99% sure it also fixed the TPMS, but I'll need to drive it a bit to see.
Thank goodness I finally fixed something on this car. I'm not a pessimist, but I was seriously starting to regret my decision to buy it.
