I truly miss that on my 2010 XKR and have thought about doing a string of l.e.d. lights around the intake vents and running the wiring through them and up to a connection. I sure Jaguar had left a set of fog lamps on the redesign.
Ha ha eat carrots ted lol

That is a good point. When the weather is better I will take another look at removing the entire light unit. Mine seems to be the same as yours, so if it is, then I can go ahead with the LED bulb swap.

That’s pretty cool - maybe matches your contrast stitch and brake calipers as well as protecting the fob?

I see lots of similar silicone covers on ebay, but they don't show the leaper on the back. I assume the pictures you show are from the ebay advertisement. I wonder if they all have the leaper on the back. Do you have the link?

Update: Ordered some on ebay. A lot of sellers aren't showing the back, but I believe they all have "Jaguar" and the leaper.

I let it drain for about an hour before putting the drain plug back in and pumped 1.3 quarts in and let it dribble back on the floor. The back end was up on ramps so maybe that effected the level.
100ml top-up diff fluid (Don the 4.2s have a totally different drain plug to the 5.0 as it's simply a 3/8" drive not like the 8mm in yours)

Also set the two outer valves in the exhaust system to the open position and it absolutely roars with the 100cell cats now !

Default Bought it and drove it 1400 Kilometres

I flew to Canberra from Brisbane, bought a 2013 XKR and drove it back through the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and Queensland over the next two days with my partner. Awesome experience

Headlight washers wrapped in gloss black to take the chrome edge off of them and to tie into the gloss back window trim I had done. Also had the side rear windows tinted to match the rear window.
Pretty pleased with the end result .

Adding that stripe made your car faster, and being red made it even more fast. Before that stripe it was only half fast!

You might want to stripe it in the style of the Lance Reventlow 1958 Scarab. I saw him driving it in 1961 at the track in Marlboro, Maryland and will never forget the sound of that 283 Chevy engine. A gorgeous race car.

My apologies for hijacking this thread, but because most of you know nothing about the Scarab I thought you'd enjoy this video.

True, but he did a double red stripe, so that makes it twice as more fast than it was before anyway And that is really fast

I installed new shocks, replaced my rotors with drilled and slotted, and put Brembo ceramic pads on. Oh, and that's a refurbed caliper I put on too, which got the "red" G2 two part epoxy paint to match back with the other 3 calipers about an hour after I took this pic.

Let us know how the Brembo ceramic pads compare to the OEM pads. How's the initial bite, are they noisy, and what about the brake dust?

I noticed that you don't have the drilled holes to install the plate on the caliper?!? Is that different on the XK vs XKR or did your refurb unit just not have them?!?

I haven't taken it out yet because of the sloppy weather but will do a review of the changes I made. These Brembo ceramics market themselves as sort of a hybrid "quiet ceramic" pad. Mostly I am just looking to minimize the brake dust. The drilled and slotted rotors I just put on because they look good. I'm also looking forward to seeing if there is much ride difference in the shocks as I put XKR (CATS) shocks on the front and just new standard XK shocks on the back.

I'll report back hopefully before Spring. : )
