Default What does the code "QQ6" mean

Just that. What does "QQ6" mean?

My car is a XK Convertible from 2007, B18xxx, Mod 5G ( Motor ), Type/Variant/Version QQ6/KJ/402.

Also, how do I know, if it has full leather trim? It looks all like real leather, even the dashboard. But the seats do not have that "vented" look.

It´s not that important ( I LOVE the car ), but I am curious.

Thanks in advance, Hermann

Hermann,

I don't recognise that code and it also appears none on the other 150 members who have already viewed your question have come across it. Where did you find it?

I have seen it - buying a spare part (don't recall what) and it meant coupe x150, but what is an origin of this code - have no bloody clue.

Maybe ignore it but ask any dealer to print out car's detailed build info.

It’s the European Union Type reference, which is the code under which a given vehicle has been homologated.

It means more or less to the administration what X150 means to Jaguar.

European Type Approval Numbers for the original XK are E11*2001/116*0272*00 and E11*2001/116*0272*01.

Type, Variant and Version codes are used by individual country registration authorities.

Yes, the EU is an expert in defining many different codes for the same thing. Each administration wants their very own code, and there are myriads of them...

QQ6 is one of the codes designating the X150 but not the only one.

I've found the same references in my UK Registration Certificate to the equivalent Austrian Registration Certificate that Arminius posted in #5.

QQ6 is the common Type code.

Hi!

But it used by the F-Type.
J43 is another code for the X150.
it‘s a little bit confusing by buying genuine parts for the car.

NO. Jaguar part numbers are listed in JEPC against the VIN range. The factory, dealers and reputable parts suppliers all follow this system. Any Country, Region or State vehicle registration coding such as the one under discussion in this thread is irrelevant to correct identification of replacement parts.
