Default Wheel lugs and rear lights.

Ok, Im done with the awful wheel lugs they fitted to our cars.

I had one peg out on me on my VDP and now my XKR has suffered the same fate, I managed to get the one off the VDP but the XKR is proving to be stubborn. I will eventually get it off but Im gonna have to get creative.

What options has anyone found to replace these lugs with a better one. Id like to find domed ones but at this stage I really don't care.

As an aside, why is the wrench supplied with the car a pos....its not even symmetrical, and mine has never been used prior to me attempting to use it....thats easy to change but the only option I see is an impact wrench . I just damaged the wheel trying to use a normal wrench.

My second question is about my rear light holder, does anyone know where I can buy just the socket from and then wire it into the loom. The metal piece broke inside the rubber part and is shot, I tried a repair but that didnt hold.Im talking about the combo tail/brake light one.

Toyota Lug Nuts also fit, and they are a lot more solid than the junk OEM. You just have to make sure that they don't bottom out on the hub before they contact the wheel. That's only a problem on a couple wheel styles though.
There is a good thread in here if you search.
For the light socket, I can't help you at all.

Thanks, ive heard Toyota and Mazda both do lugs that fit, as far as searching, yea thats not exactly easy on this forum. Unless im searching wrong, if im in the section for a particular model I want a search to stay with that model and not throw up similar searches but for different models.
My breakers yard just called me and said they are bidding on an XKR in a week or so, so that might well be my best option right now. There are a few bits and bobs that I need.

If you have broken the actual tail light assembly…. well, they can be sourced from Jag Parts.
If it is truly just the socket you’re after, try googling “bay15d socket”… so many options.

Try viewing these two threads: Gorilla lug nuts update, 2/16/22 and Gorilla lug nuts 73138J 1/31/22. As you will see/read I've installed these and am quite pleased with the fit/finish and appearance and they do not require alterations like the Toyota lug nuts.

Thanks! Sadly, I'm too technologically challenged to know how to do that.
