With all the Camera's mounted and filming the 'Vette; if someone is at fault they are most certainly getting a ticket.

You can see all the external cameras mounted in the video.

No explanation that I've seen of what happened.

People have a bad habit of running across multiple lanes in tight turns.

My thoughts exactly, that's always been the issue with Corvette's, even by sport cars standards (which by design aren't supposed to be posh, or feature a plethora of luxury features)that interior is rubbish. I don't get how they could look at it and think "this interior will do". I mean look at that line of buttons they threw onto the trim, arm-like looking thing, what were they thinking there?

Those are Climate Control Buttons.

If you want to make an adjustment fast; it sure beats going through a menu that takes a few seconds per screen.

Doesn't pretty much everyone set their Climate Control one time and never touch it again, ever?

When you have a significant other that doesn’t like the AC as cold as you do, you do have to toggle back and forth (and those ‘drivers side’ / ‘passenger side’ controls just don’t cut it in a small space).

We can pick it apart piece by piece but it looks like and will be a big seller at least for 2020. I talked to another dealer and he sold out his 30 car allotment in 20 minutes. When I see the convertible my IRR 2012 XKR will most likely go on the sale block if I like it. . Until then enjoy the ride.

I want to go windows down, no AC.

I have to go through a menu set with a slow loading screen to do so in the Jaguar.

In the 'Vette I'd be done with it at the first touch.

Going back to AC on I could just press auto, but to go from auto to off requires menus.

Would be nice to have it a double action button of auto/off.

I'm with you on the climate controls, i like simple and no screens needed. I'm a millennial and work in IT, and no, the screens don't trigger me, but they irritate me having to look around. I want buttons.

My 07 XKR has better screen menus than many cars I've driven, but still would prefer buttons for things like temperature sync and where to send the air vent wise. My temperature preferences are like my personality, i like it icy and frigid in my car. Other people apparently like it higher than Lo and not always in the face.

I *do* like the clean look that was achieved with the XK. It is very relaxing visually to sit in one of these cars.

The Corvette is designed to a different purpose. Quick access with every control accessible by an instant touch button is prioritized.

This.

I really like climate controls on my F-type - 3 round knobs. Push central to turn it all on or off. Rotate side dials to set temperature. I also have physical defrost button.

Touch screen is awful control mechanism for actions one is expected to do while driving the car.

I have a front and rear defrost set of buttons, which is nice, but honestly, just adding a temp sync button and a MODE button to cycle through air distribution options (like my fancy older Nissans have) would have not cluttered things up. Add the seat heater buttons to the seat controls up near the door handles and you really could have completely eliminated the climate screen and functions entirely.

The F Type schema is pretty slick from what I've seen but it'll be a while before I own one because an early F Type R AWD variant is still way more than I want to pay (despite it's a decent value). Probably 2023-2025 lol.

So you are looking at 2 or 3 years out.
If the demand slows down by then.
Recession may help you out.

Maybe and maybe not. Just have to wait and see. In the interim I'll just drive the Jag.

Looking forward to seeing middle aged men in jean shorts with there izod shirt tucked in pulling a mid-engined C8 into the trailer park!

LOL I'm actually very excited about the C8. I haven't liked a Corvette since my Dad's '67 roadster. I have no desire to own one but I appreciate the accomplishment that GM has made in the face of the exotics. Sure it doesn't have the panache of a hand stitched Italian stallion but it won't be as delicate as a Faberge egg either. I think it's gorgeous compared to the over stylized C7. My boss has a C7 Z06 and it's a properly fast car however the C8 is leaps and bounds better looking. When you compare it to any other car in it's price point the numbers speak for themselves.
