Who has their car lowered with spacers fitted.
I know there is posts on lowering, but Who has their car lowered with 15mm rear spacers and 20mm fronts fitted. Any rubbing issues. Have been thinking of fitting new shocks just for maintenance as the car seems to bottom out on the drivers rear when i hit a dip at speed, weak shock i think, so was thinking of lowering it as well just for the look. What is a good distance to lower by and type of spring used. Would like the wheels just to have a slight gap between the wheel top and arch. Pictures would be great. Wouldn't mind a bit more stiffness. Any views on type of shock to use instead of the OEM part. Pics, pics please.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to locate my receipt for the Lowering springs so I can't provide you the part #'s but they can be readily had online. I believe they are close to 1 and 1/8" inch drop. Here, I attached the receipts for the spacers showing the item number for fronts and rears. Both spacers and lowering springs are H&R.

25mm might be taking a bit of a chance….. No, shocks were not replaced. They are still in good shape as my car has relatively low mileage with just a bit over 50,000km. I have lowered many many a car and have never replaced the shocks upon lowering unless they were worn. Abt 10 yrs ago I lowered the T-Bird front and back but then re-installed the stock rear springs again as it was a bit to low in the back. The stock ride height for the Tbird has the front end slightly higher than the rear, like the old mustangs. I don't like that reversed rake look. It now has 96000km with original shocks and they still handle great but due to the mileage I will swap them out with new shocks. Same with the Chrysler 300, lowered with stock shocks.Let me know how you make out or if you want different angle pics…..

I went with Spires custom Eibach springs, approx 20mm, or .75 inches lower than stock, but may vary depending on your current height as no two cars are alike. I believe this to be the perfect ride height, with H&R too aggressive. As far as spacers, I have wheels with custom offsets and widths, which make spacers irrelevant. From the factory specification, I am approx 15mm closer to the edge of the fender or 5mm retracted from the outside edge. No clearance issues.

Thinks now 20mm springs might do as i have 20mm spacers on the front and 15mm rear and the wheels are just flush with the wheel arch, Spires do these:

I have the same set up on my car…..20mm on front and 15mm on rears. If you proceed with purchasing lowering springs, go with what you feel will suit your taste and comfort level the best. The odds of being happy with the decision will be greater I like my set up, it works for me…... All the best!
