XKR hesitating between 1000-2000RPM
After about 45 minutes of driving today, my 2012 XKR started to hesitate and buck on acceleration between 1000-2000RPM and was perfectly fine after 2K RPM. I let the car sit for about an hour, and on the way back home, it didn't do it again. Any thoughts?
Throttle application was nothing too aggressive. Light to moderate.
No light came up. Not sure if any codes were stored, I don't have a reader.
When I restarted the car, it did smell a little...rich. I don't know if it's the cats? Someone suggested spark plugs commonly cause that. My car has 37K miles on it.

I drive it every day. Nowhere far or anything, usually to get lunch while I'm working (I work from home) or a date with my wife.
On average it gets about 10-15 miles a day driven. And I don't necessarily baby it, I'll open it up.
What ideas did you have? I just drove it again for about 40 miles total, and it ran just fine.

Hmmm. I still have 1 month left on my extended warranty and recorded a video of it hesitating and then surging - the needle just bouncing up and down for 3 seconds. Only happens between 1K-2K RPM.
Damndest thing. I had this exact issue on my 2006 A6 4.2...but on that car it got very violent. I decided to just get rid of it. Idk if this is a vacuum issue or transmission.

Mine did that a while back but only after I threw a pair of K&Ns in it. First time it did it, I cleaned the MAFs and all was fine... for a while. The second time it did it, I cleaned the MAFs and swapped back to paper filters and haven't experienced it since. If you have paper filters, try cleaning your MAFs really well.
PS: Even with my mods, there was zero butt dyno difference between paper and K&N.

I am having the same problems. But my engine light came on with a P0101 code. MAF sensors. Had my mechanic replace MAF sensors and filters. Every once in a while, I get the same hesitation again. Kind of jerky. I took completely off my foot of the gas petal. It is fine after I press it down again. I was thinking it may be the quality of gas. I know it is not the MAF sensors or filters. Any suggestions?
