XKR Traction Control
I'm always turning it off.
Never drive on snow or for that matter rarely on wet roads.
Occasionally mine is finicky, spect low voltage oriented. Generally I take it as the first sign I need to hook up my trickle charger. Then all is well. No chance there is a fuse or relay that can just be pulled allowing traction control to be off?

Having issues battery fully charged cannot turn Trac Off. Worked fine yesterday. Has occasionally been finicky but always starts working again. Going to the strip tomorrow and even Off Off would work better than... On!
now that the subject came up, i've searched the forum on this before but i'm still a little confused about it. what's in the manual doesn't seem to match what i've read on old threads. i'm sure i'm missing something since what i'm about to say will probably sound stupid.
holding the button for 3 seconds toggles between the "on" state, which is both TC and DSC, and one of the two off states. whichever one you last chose. and holding for 10 seconds toggles between which of those off's it defaults to, while also turning it to that off state if it was on?

From the manual...
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) (Amber)
The indicator will flash twice every
second when DSC is operating.
The message DSC NOT AVAILABLE
will be displayed and the indicator lamp
illuminates continuously if a fault is detected.
When TracDSC is selected, the message TRAC
DSC is displayed for four seconds and the
warning indicator remains illuminated.
When DSC is switched off, a chime will sound,
the message DSC OFF is displayed in the
message centre and the warning indicator
remains illuminated.
DSC OFF happens when the console button is held for over ten seconds. No electronic intervention will occur.

. I like both of your driving styles.I too keep mine OFF, off as it conflicts with my driving preference and manner, especially when its slippery out. (yes even in an ‘07 with the quaife.)
And to add to Cee Jays posts, absolutely; the low voltage situation will affect this as well as the parking brake accuator (among other things)
Are you certain the battery is good? To quote my esteemed colleague: “its always the battery”.
Cheers All.
New AGM battery fully charged. Battery is where I go first when anything weird and strange appears. Will try a hard reset this morning. It is giving me a clue however that it is not happy. When I start the engine within seconds a chime (can't believe I can hear it) and the burnout icon appears with "DSC Off" on the dash without me doing anything. Then couple seconds later another chime and burnout icon disappears and DSC ON appears. Then it does not matter how long you hold the button down, 3 seconds or 33... nothing.
There has to be a way to disable.
Fix would be better.
What's this parking brake actuator thingy about?

So fuse F22 and F20 in the engine compartment are for DSC systems. Pulling F22 has the desired effect of turning off my traction control. It also has the undesirable effect of turning on my ABS light. But for today a 1/4 mile at a time it works for me. Now the issue is... NO POSI and with Alex's tune this is an issue!
Any impute on why my trac control button is being all union...ish on me and only working part time I'm all ears. Easy now... I pay dues UFCW 1473.

Problem still persisting. Turn ignition on even without starting car I get a chime and DSC off and burnout icon appears. Couple seconds later dash indicates DSC On and burnout icon disappears. All this in about 5 seconds or so. Traction control button on center console does nothing during or after the above takes place. Puzzled.
you get up early.
This is beyond standard operation. Time for the status codes.
Parking actuator is the module managing the parking brake. It is integrated with DSC. And Cruise Control. Thus if your battery is not supplying enough voltage and AMPS!, those systems will not come “online”.
Fully charged is more than just reading the at rest voltage.

Yes I do. Work 5am to 5pm. New AGM battery last year, had a 10 amp charger for 12 hrs indicating full charge week ago Friday, cleaned connections. Will pull codes to see if low voltage or anything else active. Might be a bad AGM battery but on maintainer so..... batteries have tripped me up in the past.
On a side note I managed to stumble across the fact that with F22 DSC fuse pulled in engine bay round a bouts are a blast.

well i read the user manual and the service manual like twelve more times and i'm significantly less confused now, and boy there's a whole host of codes to choose from, but nothing in the operation or fault descriptions seems related to that weird behavior at all. also no mention of "NO POSI" there; i guess there could be some significant differences in the post-facelift car. i would guess steering angle sensor or yaw sensor?
you didn't mention whether removing F20 and/or F22 changes the funny behavior during startup, only that F22 definitely disables TC and DSC in actual operation.

well but in an earlier post he said car starts, chime + "DSC OFF", then chime + "DSC ON", and thereafter:
