Default 05 Jag XK8 low mpg with CAI and Mina Exhaust?

Hi fellas,

Maybe it's just me ...tell me I am wrong.

I installed Mina's open air intake and cat back full exhaust about 2 months ago....however, it seems that my MPG got worse, is this possible?

I though these mods should help mpg? maybe it is because of winter time? (35-40 degree wet weather) here in portland ...yuuck.

I bought the car March 2015... I can easily get 25-26 mpg pure hwy driving cruising at 90mph...city mpg was around 18.5 ...and 17 at worse.

after the installs... i am only getting 22-23 pure hwy driving and last week I got 15.5 mpg pure city driving. My average is down to 18-19 mpg mixed.... I have 46K on the odo now...maybe time for spark plugs?

ideas?

Spark plugs due around the 100 k mark. Go over what you have done and check for any codes.

Perhaps you're putting your foot into it more than you used to, since you can appreciate the sound now? I know that I have been, since I got my Mina exhaust.

Try cleaning the maf sensor. It's possible due to the larger air intake the data coming off the maf sensor is gelling the car to richen the fuel mixture.

Your summer fuel use and winter use seems right in line with what I get. Could be fuel. https://blog.gasbuddy.com/posts/Wint...22955-413.aspx
