Default 05 XK8 srs airbag light on

Hi guys,

My airbag lights was on since last week.... it was fine the first 15 minutes and then the light blinks 3x and 2x and then constant on until I turn off the engine...I pulled 2 codes with my icarsoft

Any idea, how do I diagnose this?

My battery was replaced January 2016 so I don't think it's the battery.

ALSO does anyone know any good independent Jag close to Thousand Oak California??

I think the sticky has the Airbag Flash Code Keys. You are seeing a 32

I think if you call Minna Gallery, his father is a Jaguar mech. They are in the valley...

The most reliable is the flash codes. That said, I recommend rechecking the flash code count. The flash code repeats, I think 5 cycles before going solid.
The guide for flash codes doesn't have a Code 32. Once you post the new results we can help out from there.

Are you not trusting the second message? I believe the air bag system need to know if your safety belt is on, so there is wiring/switch in the belt buckle. I believe there have been posts about this before, something about the wiring and a plug under the seat.

Regardless of what you use to read codes on a Jaguar, the only reliable decode is the Jaguar DTC listing. Here's the extract for the two codes you reported:

B1318 is not related to the SRS and B2434 should be accompanied by Flash Code 51.

Check your Flash Code count again. Possibly misread or you may have additional SRS issues.

My SRS Flash Code lookup doesn't list 41. The additional information for 51 + B2434 possible causes is:

Connectors: FC009, SD001, SD020. Driver Safety Belt Buckle Switch.
Harnesses: Instrument Panel. Driver Seat

I'd check the connectors first.

I did that and it seem everything is tight ...I don't feel anything loose.

These threads might assist

AFAIK the switch in the seat belt buckle can't be replaced.

If your seat is in its fully lowered position, try raising it by 1/2 an inch.

The seat harness design is a total bodge, the seat mechanism pinches the harness when in the fully lowered position.

Hey folks, I finally just had the time to take the seat out, inspect and clean every connector on the seat especially, the seat belt receptacle connector, however I am still getting 5-1 code, it's also rather weird that if the weather is cool, it won't flash until the it's getting warmer. Does this mean my seatbelt buckly could be defective or the harness? which harness do I need?

It's a lot of work removing seats but swapping the passenger and driver seat belt buckles could isolate whether it is a buckle problem. Hopefully someone can suggest an easier way of eliminating the buckle as the cause. I was lucky that separating the cable connectors and cleaning with electronic cleaning solvent cured my 51 fault

So I swapped the buckles and I still get the 5-1 code...any idea what I should check next?

Did you try raising the seat yet?

Some more discussion here -
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ev-sam-115939/
It looks like a harness issue now that you have confirmed that swapping buckles doesn't resolve the fault. Reinspect the under-seat harness thoroughly to see if there is any damage from pinching as suggested by RaceDiagnostics. Try cleaning all contacts again.
Is it possible to disconnect the harness and check for continuity for each pin end to end?
Other than that I've run out of ideas.

Looks like a trip to the shop is warranted then...I didn't know what I was looking at in regards with the harness.
