Hello my 1998 xk8 failed her mot on 2 things ,,,wish bone front bush and lower ball joint boot split,,,,,do I have to dismantle things to lift ball joint out and replace rubber boot (the ball joint itself is fine)can I just unbolt split joint with ball joint splitter and jack it up replace boot,thanks all

Louis, you are right on the ball joint boot, but the bushing will be a bit of a moan.

thankyou ,,,,,I did manage to get the long bolt out eventually....lots of banging wd40 and a very long bar and it worked loose,,,,I must admit I nearly gave up,,I did a video of it and put it on you tube under my name

 

I also did a small video on you tube of me pressing in the new upper wish bone bushes,,,,,,was very easy
