Default 2001 xkr shocks rebuild/refurbish

I have a 2001 XKR and am thinking of doing the upper shock mounts as I will be in here I was also thinking of having the shocks rebuilt my car has the CATS shocks i.e $477 new so I looked on the bilsteinus site and see they do service these shocks for $75 a shock.

Has anyone used this service ?

Service

Thanks
Simon

Look for the word Service in blue right above his signature and click on it.

Spoke to Bilstein today, they will rebuild some shocks but I wanted to submit the actual part number for a firm quote.

Forgot to mention that they did not have a XKR number but could order a CATS compatible XK8 shock from Germany, cost about $450 USD. P/N 20-070540 (front), 20-070557 (rear). I guess love isn't free.

I own 2 2001 XKR's, one has Brembo brakes. Both use the same front shocks MJB 2141 EB, the replacement is Bilstein 20-070540, best price I found is $360 each. I'll be calling Bilstein Monday with the part# to see what rebuild service they offer.
Stay tuned, Zeecat

Default No rebuild service from Bilstein

Bilstein said they do not rebuild the MJB 2140/2141 EB shocks. But there's a replacement CATS-compatible shocks from Bilstein. I just replaced the upper mounts and did see a little oil on the shocks. For now I may just replace the shock bushing, if possible.
