2003 XKR Misfire After Coolant Line Ruptured
The other day, I had a coolant line come loose near the expansion tank on my 2003 Xkr. Coolant sprayed onto engine, possibly on my ignition coil nearest the expansion tank. The car ran rough this morning, restricted performance on/off....Will this dry out or did I possibly damage a coil pack?
It will probably dry out by Itself. That being said, Antifreeze has a nasty habit of not drying as well as water, and depending on how soaked everything got. It may not dry out completely. If it doesn't, simply wet the area lightly, Don't just soak the heck out of everything. You want enough water to mix with, and dilute the remaining antifreeze so it can evaporate. Use a hair dryer, or a regular heat gun on low, and dry the area thoroughly, and completely. Until all the water / coolant is gone. Be careful with a heat gun as they can get really hot even on low. Don't use compressed air as that can push liquid deep into connectors, and even into the components themselves sometimes. Hope it helps.
