Default lift supports

Sounds like a better idea than gas struts. I don't suppose there are any like that adaptable to X100's? Guess I'll look into it–I like making parts.
Thanx,
Rick

Default locking lift supports

After thinking it over, the XJS support sounds like the hood and trunk lid supports on my old MG's; perhaps, I can lenghthen one from a parts car in my barn.
Thanx again,
Rick

What a great idea and surprised I never came across these gizmos. My bonnet lifts easily so the struts are still basically decent but the problem is keeping it up (that's what she said ). After a while it starts creeping down and will eventually snap shut. I will need to order a set of these strut locks!

You only need one to keep the bonnet open.

I have several because I work on more than one car at a time.
