Default did I get the right part?? RESOLVED

I have a power steering leak from pump to rack and using my SNG Barratt catalog, ordered MJB3985AB from my indie.

the diagram and what I have look like item 4 below:

But what I received is pic #2. When I went to install it seems I would have to reroute the hose closer to the catalytic converter to make this work.
It also seems to stress the hose at the pump junction since the metal tubing no longer has the 90degree bend to the pump as shown in pic 1. Is this the right part?

SNG's online catlog shows pic 2 but the book shows pic 1 as does XKs Unlimited. jagbits shows pic 2. Was the original part superseded? Just want to make sure I have the right item

Steve,

The original P/N for the pump to steering rack hose for your MY XK8 was MJA3985AF but this is no longer available and has been superseded by MJB3985AB so it looks like you have the correct part.

The superseded part has been in production for about 10 years.

I had the same problem when I worked at the dealer and the parts dept gave me the part to install.

I walked back to parts and they said it was correct and that they called the main parts in Mahwah NJ.

Just route the hose the best way you can.

just a Torx bit for the connection at the rack and open end wrench at the pump - don't remember the sizes. No Advil just a couple of cold IPA's when it was done

used a 5/16 or 16 mm wrench at the pump and a 10 mm socket at the latch plate.
