failed tensioner - RESOLVED
a little over 170000 miles - never would have expected that either. Shop owner said once they pulled apart, he inspected and everything looked good other than what is pictured

I'll bring the rope and the beer, just need sandwiches. Buddy won't be telling stories again.
With springs it seems to be the second ones..........

I was so worried about the motor in the 41K mile '98 I bought I wouldn't drive it until I pulled the valve cover and low and behold someone had already put the metal body tensioners in it.
No way you would have driven it this long if you had known.

it was engineered to be as light as possible. they got another supplier to change the design because it was too loud. the new style tensioners came with it.
