Default How to remove this hose clamp?

Getting past my basic tools, and I'm stumped getting this hose clamp off.

I'm replacing the Reservoir bleed hose today.

Is there anything I need to know besides a simple direct approach?
Any surprises I should be concerned about?

You'll need to either bend it open, or snip the metal along the bit that is crimped (the right-hand bit in the image). They're not re-usable, so make sure you have replacement jubilee clips to hand.

Actually they can be reused if removed carefully. Squeeze across the outermost protrusions with a pair of pliers, then while continuing to squeeze the pliers use a small screwdriver to gently lift the latch in the center.

Squeeze again till it clicks to reinstall.

8858--

The clamps are simple AND re-useable.
Looking at the picture, there are two raised rounded areas. One on the right, one on the left. In the middle is a smaller rounded area.
Take a sharp small pointed punch, put the point under the left rounded area and let the punch rest on the center one. Apply downward pressure on handle of punch and "snap", the clamp snaps open. (Don't have one in front of me, so you may have to experiment on what way to use the punch--right or left--but that's the idea) To re-ruse, put the clamp on the new hose, put the hose on the nipple, then using the two outer rounded areas, squeeze them together with a standard pair of pliers until you hear it "snap" together. Have used them over many times. Great little clamps.

Cheers

They aren't designed to be reusable, even if they can be, so why bother? It's not as though a jubilee clip is an expensive bit of equipment.

It surprised the heck out of me when I squeezed that clamp together and it went "click".

I remember saying "cool".

They definitely are designed for reuse, and with a little practice are very easy to open and close.

WhiteXKR is perfectly correct, and yes if done carefully it is reusable.

They are indeed reusable, but I do not like them. Whenever I have to remove one to repair the vehicle, I replace it with a standard worm-drive clamp....

That is Click-R clamp. There is special pliers for them:

I broke the bleed hose 2 days ago while changing the supercharger oil and was wondering how to open that clip. That really helped thanks you ;-)

Aside from being reusable the stock clamps are a constant pressure type of clamp, which is superior to the basic worm-drive hose clamp.

I always reuse mine. No leaks so far.

You asked whats the pipe for ...remember there is an inlet at the bottom of the tank and this is bleed back into the main system. If there is any air it will be in the expansion tank.
Top up right to the top to keep the overflow system working.

I knew I'd done a post on opening/closing this type of Norma Clip but didn't think it was as long ago as 2012!

There is a the inevitable 'special tool' available but I've always found pliers sufficient once you know where to press.

Graham,

2012 was just the blink of an eye ago. Interesting how the years go by so much faster as we age....
