Default I never had the chime

My car, probably since before I have owned it, has never had the indicator/seatbelt, and key in ignition chime. It is dead silent. I don't know even get static. I kinda miss it, I have fond memories of it from the X308 my dad had when I was growing up.

Is there a way to fix the this? I want it back. Sometimes I feel like an old lady driving down with my indicator blinking for a few blocks. I would hear the chime, but I don't look at the dashboard often enough when driving to see if my blinkers are on.

I want all those cool classy knock on wood sounds these cars normally make.

Well on my 03 the blinker click is so soft that I can't hear it anyway, I also have no seat belt chime when in gear and the seat belt is not latched. The seatbelt light on the dash cycles on startup but does not come on indicating the seat belt is not latched when in gear.

I do feel the seat belts are working correctly as I can feel the tensioner release when I put the car in park after a drive.

It's probably the speaker which is mounted in the lower steering wheel surround - about $25 from a dealer.

Alright, so how do I swap the speakers? Could I use any speaker I can buy at an electronics store? I'd hate to wait for the thing to arrive and drive all the way to the only Jag dealer in the island. It's time that I just don't have this semester.

I think my speaker has gone out as well- I have no blinker sound. It's on my list but I've also got more important matters to take care of any given day. Maybe one nice long Sunday this spring I'll catch up on it all... At any rate, I've heard it's pretty much just a computer speaker kinda thing you can likely get at any electronics store, but I'm not positive. Basic soldering may be in order if not? Dunno. Should be easy anyway.

Well, if soldering is involved then I can't really do this.

No soldering involved if you use the Jaguar part - it's plug and play, but do disconnect the battery before taking off the steering wheel covers -it's a 15min job total. The chimes and turn signal sounds are electronically generated on these cars - not like the old days. I would just say be careful using a non Jaguar part - make sure that the impedance matches or else you could damage whatever module generates the warning noises. For a saving of $10 or so between genuine and generic I just didn't think it worth the risk, but each to his own.

Have the same problem since few weeks, it only stopped half the time at the begining then completely muted.
I removed the cover etc to find the speaker but didn't find any connector, are you sure there's one batroute?
Maybe I need to disassemble more but the soldering idea, in my car, stopped me.
I will first try to find another driver, with higher impedance to lower the sound in the same time.
Didn't find it yet, I think it was 64 ohms, so not easy even from partsexpress.
Worst case here: SPEAKER, AUDIBLE WARNING From VIN (018108) - Terrys Jaguar Parts - LXF2280AA

It was three years ago that I did this job and I've been to bed AND had a drink since then )............but, definitely no soldering required - I am sure about that - perhaps spade connectors on to the speaker??

Update - just checked that link to Terrys and that clearly shows a connector?
