Default I wrecked my 2000 xk8 , I need help clearing the fault codes please

I basically got pit maneuver the other day in my 2000 XK8 spun around and slammed into a bridge abutment with the driver side so the front fenders crushed in back fenders crushed in the door wouldn't really hurt because of it the fender and then roll back and at the bump the back fender. I put the code scanner on it and it gives me a engine fault gearbox fault body fault and electrical fault and it won't let me clear any of it any idea please give me a shout thanks

If the police did the PIT maneuver, were you arrested and the car confiscated??

Seriously? Is the car written off? Like motorcarman, Some more information of the incident might be of interest, as would be the fault codes themselves

No the front fender on the driver side the bumper cover and the back fender on the driver side is the only thing that's really hurt. It basically hit the top of the fender and in the front and pushed it over and it barely catches the hood so the hood really didn't get messed up maybe some scratches from the driver's front fender but it can't come up unless I pull the fender back maybe an eighth of an inch 16th of an inch is barely catching the hood. In the back it's much too top of the quarter panel about an inch past the tire I guess I was basically up almost on two wheels when I slammed into the bridge abutment I hit it with the front drivers fender and the bumper cover and then it's slung me around and hit with the back fender. Now I've got two CD from Jaguar how to work on it and I've got the code scanner actually have two of them. And I've cleared another trouble codes before but this time it will not let me somebody else mentioned a interrupter switch something I'm going to try and find that on the CD Now. What really is killing me is it had never been wrecked it was in almost perfect condition. With only 73000 miles on it and a convertible to boot

I've got the CD from Jaguar how to work on it or rebuild it if need be. But that's the first I've heard of the immobilizer circuit I really appreciate it now I can find it. Thanks

It was pouring the rain I just got on the highway the guy in front of me was doing 25 miles an hour. A big semi dump truck hauling a lowboy with a backhoe loader on it was coming right down on us in the curb Lane. There was nobody in the middle I'm a 3-lane highway. So I jumped into the middle Lane. I got up almost with the car that was in front of me I saw the truck in my right rear view mirror coming up you know where I would have been behind this slow moving car in front of me and all of a sudden I was thrust into the fast lane which thankfully I didn't hit anybody and then I caught the gravel and it's slowing me backwards and I went back across all three lanes of Highway still didn't hit nobody. I just figured I had trounced it getting from the slow lane to the Middle Lane to hard in the rain and it broke traction. When the insurance adjuster come to the house to appraise what damage was done to the car he told me and showed me that the truck driver had actually tap me and left a little imprint of his bumper and rubber on the corner bumper cover in the back on the passenger side and he said if it was raining you're doing 50 or 60 miles an hour all that truck would had to done and touch you and he left an imprint of his bumper and rubber off his tire on the corner at the bumper cover on the passenger side in the back. So the insurance company didn't even charge me for the accident even though I got a ticket because it took them 50 minutes highway patrolman was upset because he had to wait with me until the insurance company found us and dispatch the tow truck. So now I wasn't arrested

You need to find the INERTIA SWITCH and reset the button.

On the drivers side, I assume your in the US, open the door and you will see a access panel. Just pulls out. Behind it is a rubber looking thing like a small torch, or flashlight, on the top of that is the reset button. Just push it down.

Members here are helping you, which is normal for the generosity and expertise of forum members. But nobody has given words of sympathy....so shame on us all!!

So: commiserations at this unhappy event. I hope you manage to resolve it all quickly, reasonably easily, and (though this is probably a wish too far) without too much cost.
