Michelin Pilot tire wear
re 2003 XK8 conv
Previous owner purchased Michelin Pilot A/S 3 tires in 2018 and had alignment.
At Costco today and they said they are worn out down to 2/32 on front and wouldn’t balance them. I have maintained proper tire pressure (32/34) during my ownership.
11000 miles. I expect some reduction in mileage because I can’t rotate.
is this normal?
anyone getting better mileage with different brand

On my wife's 2006 XK8, the two sets of front Yokohama YK580 tires I ran on that car (245/40/19 at 32 psi) lasted 45,000 to 48,000 miles for each set. The three sets of rear Yokohama YK580 tires I ran on that car (255/40/19 at 29 psi) lasted 32,000 to 34,000 miles on each set. She did a lot of highway driving back and forth from North Carolina to Florida to visit her now-deceased parents. Those tires were manufactured only for Discount Tire and are no longer available....
I rotated the tires from side to side on the same axle every 6,000 miles....
You may want to research whatever Yokohama tire replaced the YK580 as well as the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 tire....

I checked these tyres out here in the uk and they cost around 350 pounds each. I usually pay about 110 pounds for two tyres and about 10 pounds each for fitting.
Sounds like a rip off to me ....I expect a tyre to last 30,000 miles

Every tire brand I’ve tried has prematurely worn in the center of the tread when I’ve had the tires inflated to the normal specification listed in the owners manual. That includes Michelin, Pirelli’s, & Goodyear’s.
Center tread wear is a classic sign of overinflation.
The owners manual also lists an alternative tire pressure setting called “Comfort - speeds under 100 mph”.
I ended getting the best tire wear by setting the pressure at a mid-point between the normal setting and the comfort setting.
That way I don’t feel endangered on those occasions when I can hit the throttle wide open for a few brief seconds, and inadvertently exceed 100 mph ….

My driving position always blocks any view of the speedometer...I just enjoy the drive.

I went thru one set of those on my 2004 XK8 and they never had wear issues. Put a 2nd set on that car because the first set was so impressive. When I sold that car the 2nd set still looked perfect with zero uneven wear.
Pretty sure you have a car/setup problem, not a tire problem. I would not mount another set till I got the setup sorted.
Knowing that can facilitate the troubleshooting.
With that pressure, I had wear in the center of the tread.
As mentioned above, when I reduced the pressure, the wear was even .
