I can't see any issues with the board. I do have a friend who can test these things but he probably will take some persuading. I have a system that should now pass the test.
The blue thing top right is a capacitor. The blue bulbs along the bottom are filament bulbs with a sleeve. There are quite a few components on that board that can easily be tested by someone who knows how to do it - it could be as simple as a failed component. If you don't care about any of the other tell tales, you could just place a small bulb/LED wired to your fog light, next to/in place of the non working fog light LED.

Just a thought - have you checked the fuse? Drivers side fusebox #6 5A

BTW if you do pull that board out again, take some hires pictures of both sides and post them on here - it might be possible to spot something you missed.

Thanks. I checked the fuse - which I think is shared anyway.

If I take it out again I expect and hope it will be to fit a replacement switch set

It's obviously a lot easier just to replace it with a working unit, but the fault is going to be so simple I'm sure it would be easy to fix. There doesn't appear to be anything complex on that board, but given the effort in getting the board in and out of the dashboard a swap is the easiest repair.

Just to close the thread. The MOT tester accepted my bodged LED and an Italian tune up seemed to clear the cobwebs and the emissions was a good pass.

I realised that in the previous 12 and possibly 18 months it had done under 100 miles and I'd been driving like a nervous vicar holding a cup of tea as I haven't checked the cam chain tensioners yet. So, a 40 mile round trip to SNG Barratt with some higher revs and then a good blast before the test seems to have done the trick.

Just to reopen the thread.

I bought a used but known good switch set and the same problem persists.

So, it must be wiring away from the switch that's at fault. Probably an earth, I think you can get the pinout for the connector somewhere so I will have to look at that and bodge an earth for the LEds.

Here's the Electrical Guide extract for exterior lighting.

And fuse 3 was bust. Now I not only have tell tale lights in the cab I have some heat as well! Fuse 3 does the heater pump as well.

Now to throw the dice on the air con with a fifty quid recharge.
