Default oil in 2001 xk8

Just picked up a 2001 xk8 and was going to use the regualr mineral 5w-30 for a change like i used for the 2000 xk8 when I see this sticky on the shock tower.

Anyone else seen this?

Um... "only use Mobil 1 synchetic oil" - I would use if you have any kind of powertrain warranty left on your vehicle, otherwise, its your choice..

I'd guess that someone who sells Mobil 1 stuck it there during an oil change.

Use what you are comfortable with and complies with the handbook specs.

Warm the sticky with a hair drier and peel it off carefully to avoid damaging the paint.

Then you can safely use any oil you like.

Agreed someone stuck that on there. Mineral oil is fine even on my XKR.

Agree with the posts above. Your owner's manual trumps whatever silly sticker a previous owner put under the hood. Use the oil that makes you happiest.
