Have been working away on the my 99 XK8 Coupe restoration and have started to remove the interior. I noticed the parcel shelf liner is separating from the backing, I assume this happens over time resulting from the heat in the back window area. Anyway, I was looking for a thread on how to remove the back seat and parcel shelf but have not found one. Can anyone direct me?

 

The Rear Seat Cushion has to be removed first:

Then the Rear Seat Backrest:

It has to be lifted off the two top brackets (one arrowed in red). This is my 2005 XK8 Coupe but the earlier Model Years are the same.



Takes longer to read the instructions than it does to remove the seat!

I haven't needed to take one out but it looks straightforward.

Once the seat is out, remove the sub woofer top cover and then the 4 screws holding the speaker in place. Unplug the 2 connectors from inside the boot/ trunk and remove the speaker. Then the plastic side trims by the windows can be popped loose, just enough to release the parcel shelf. There are two screws holding the parcel shelf in place, at the top of the seat back.

The shelf is just flexible enough to wiggle and jiggle out. You might have to remove the rear high level brake light to make more room to move.

I did the headlining and A pillars at the same time. $100 for new material and spray adhesive, now looks as good as new.

Another question if I may. I have been trying to remove my windshield wiper blade arms and after removing the caps and nuts and trying to use a puller they just wont budge. Any advice? Do you have an image for their removal? Where are you getting these image instructions? Thanks in advance Renzo

 

That's jumping well off your own thread topic!

The wiper arms can often be difficult to remove from the splines. Here is the procedure from JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System) Workshop Manual which also illustrates the Jaguar 18G2 Extractor Tool:

The caps aren't waterproof and the problem can be the arms seizing onto the splines. A soaking with penetrating oil helps but I have known the arm having to be cut off to avoid damaging the spline.
