Default Retro fit Cruise control

Hi
My XK8 does't have cruise control fitted, I wondered if anyone has ever retro-fitted it with parts from damaged / scrap cars? is it possible?

Cheers

It only has a sport button no cruise button at the gear selector, it's a coupe. I would think all the wiring is there but requires that switch plus relays etc,
XKRacer, I will have a look for TonyS in the XKEC forum

cheers & thanx
Wullie

You will need a bit more than switches and relays I am afraid, you also need the vaccuum tank and solenoids.... Even though like you say, it is do-able

Tony, If I'm not mistaken, the AJ27 Engine does not use any vacuum for the cruise, just ECM control of the Throttle Motor.

That is correct, the later engines it was all electronic...... XK8 on a 2000 would be an AJ27 if you had an XKR possibly still an AJ26..... Mine Is..... But that is besides the point as this is an XK8 which does pose the original question and one I must admit I am unsure of......

Maybe it could just be switches and a relay or two ?
