Default Speed Sensor

I have used my iCarsoft i930 Scanner and found one Sensor with 146.25 KPH and the rest 36.83. What is the desired Speed?

Could you please say this another way? Tell us the story.

What were you measuring? Why measure it? Where did you measure? (I don't want to assume this is an OBDII readout unless you say so). What exactly does "sensor" mean in your question? (Is it something you got a reading from, is it something(s) that take the reading?)

The Speed Sensor is a VSS that reads the movement of the car and allows the ABS and Traction to work. I have a Speedometer that doesn't work. Everything else works on the Cluster. The LR Speed Sensor is the one that gives reading to the Speedometer. If it doesn't work the ABS and traction doesn't work either if I'm right. I have doing what I know that's a reason why the Speedo doesn't work it brought me to this VSS. The Code reader is telling me now that the LF & LR Sensor is 36.83 KPH, and the RR is 146.25. So far today I haven't done anymore testing of them.

All 4 sensors are are interchangeable, as far as I know. Sometimes swapping them around gives other codes/readings and can move your diagnostic forward.

Wiring to the sensors is often a problem on an aging car, likely more often than the sensors themselves.

Another occasional problem is that the reluctor ring is no longer solid with the axle and gives out funky readings as it slips.

If your code reader can show you individual wheel speed, can it show you trouble codes? Might be a much better place to start...

I swapped the VSS from one side to the other and found that the wiring to the VSS was bad on the RF. The codes were U1041 and U1135. It doesn’t say anything on the dash now. The LF Speed Sensors 146.25 KPR and the rear now is 36.83 KPH at both sensors. I have ordered the wiring for the RF VSS and will put it on and pray that the speedometer will work. I don't have anymore codes and the KPH is strange, The low numbers were on LF yesterday but today they are on the rear. I hadn't driven it faster than 25 MPH before I checked for Codes today. I have found out that the harness isn't at faught. I had bought it hoping that if it was bad when I went back into it I would be ready. Now to the ABS Module.

Please keep everyone up to date on your results, and good luck with the new wiring.

Hi - are these issues related to your X300 XJ6 or an XK8/R?

1998 XK8 I appreciate all the help I can get. Is this problem possibly why my Speedometer doesn't work?

Well I have tried two different Instrument Clusters and They didn't cure the Speedometer problem. Got another ABS unit and it isn't the right one. 5 lines instead of 6. Anyway, I have read that it got the signal from the LR Speed Sensor. It proves to be good. What other reason would the ABS unit cause the Speedometer not to work?

A functioning ABS module is required for the speed signal to the INST PK.
When you get your ABS working properly, the speedo should work also.

Get the ABS fixed and then go from there.

Thanks... Do you know if there's a particular problem that can be repaired where the Module doesn't put a signal out to the RF Wheel? Other than the Harness?

I have replaced the ABS Module and has taken care of the Speedometer. The readings are still crazy with the Speed Sensors.Im returning the i930 with another one tomorrow, the next one might read better.
