Default Are these OEM wheel locks on 03' w/ BBS Milans?

Dumb of me not to foresee or check for this but today realized the wheels have locks and I do not have a key.

Just wondering if anyone recognizes them as being OEM or just one of the million types of random aftermarket locks I'll never find?

That looks very similar to what I have on my Detroits. It has a cap that covers it with a fake key slot.

Thanks, that sounds like exactly it. Helps narrow my search dramatically. I did just hammer on a socket and was able to remove the one wheel I need one now. I will probably just toss them if I can get the other 3 off.

It might well be a good idea to replace them with more modern locks - I've no idea what type will fit, so please update the thread if you find something, especially given the value of BBS wheels these days.

Wow these are really turning into a p.i.t.a. - very unique lugs as far as I can tell. The beveled face is inset into a secondary bore, and a washer on the outside of that bore. Very very specific it seems. So far can't find anything like it except for replacement key set from Adamesh. I supposed my lugs are all in good non rusty shape so I can stick with them - even though I know I'll inevitably lose the stupid key myself some day.

I can't even really determine which surface is the primary surface holding the wheel on - the cone or the washer. Or is it supposed to all deform a bit and both engage.

I can't even find the plain stock lug nuts... has anyone been able to find a source for them? Pic attached:

Take the car to a local long-time-in-business specialty wheel & tire shop. They may have the necessary tool to remove those lock nuts.

I removed my locking wheel nuts because my key was wearing out. I lost one of the welded key parts and the other was going to go as well. Just changed them to the standard wheel nuts, I can't think anyone is going to want some Jaguar wheels considering the wheels only fit a couple of cars.

I will probably do this - keep an eye out for part outs and just get 4 standards.

I found really nice aftermarket replacements (courtesy of @ODRModurol on youtube) at sngbarret But they are 24pounds (quid?). each. Yikes. I'd buy 4 but then they won't match, and no way in hell I'm paying $400 for a full set of lug nuts.

For now, I found a new set of the OEM locks from adamesh for < $40, and mine will only be a fair weather car anyway, so that should be fine for now. I was able to get the existing ones off hammering on a 12 point socket, so this should be OK.

Very amusing the trivial items that are tripping me up on this car - inflating tires and taking off wheels! Who would have guessed.

I had 20" wheels on before which use a longer wheel nut. Now I use the 18" Hydra wheels so when I changed over I just needed to buy 4 new wheel nuts which I got second hand but they are in perfect condition. I think I got them from Jaguar Auto Reserve in the UK, they stock a lot of second hand parts for our cars.

If someone stole one of your wheels what would you do? Drive around on three wheels or buy another wheel?

If you are willing to pay money for something, someone else is willing to steal it.

Oh I am sure I just don't think stealing wheels from cars is much of a thing anymore. Usually it's catalytic converters these days at least it is in the UK. I have a spare wheel? I don't leave it in public much either.

I just checked rockauto.com, they have wheel studs but not and lug nuts. Hmmm. Even one lonely 18" rim. Scratch that one of the list. TM

Obviously it depends where you leave your car - a supermarket car park during the day is a bit different to leaving it overnight with nobody about - and certain groups of people are known to nick anything. How much difference wheel locks make is another question of course, but I think they are better than nothing. It doesn't help that my front wheels are a different size to the rear of course.

I found thi interesting. While i dont have currently locks on my 2006 XKR with 20" after market wheels .. looking like the original BBS perseus wheels, which I do have and do seek to sell as I paid for thm with the purchase of the car recently. They have 20" bridgestone MS on each and are in very decent but used condtion. I will have to track down the bolts which I was given and see if there is a lock, something in the package. I will have to find them. regards to all..
