Default Trans Fluid Change Parts

Planning to do the trans fluid change some time in May. There are many threads and videos
here that document the procedure and I feel like I can handle it myself.

My question here relates to parts. I use ebay regularly and began looking for the filter/pan combo.
The prices on these are all over the map. Some are as low as $29 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F272566580881
all the way to $248 for OEM. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F183563637762
and every price in between. I realize you get what you pay for but the the difference here is
10 times the price for OEM.

In addition there is an aluminum Mechatronic Adapter here: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F273753429713
Anyone used it?

Lastly there is also a metal oil pan listed for the ZF6HP26 for $129.https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F272330683049
This one does not look exactly like the plastic ones but it says it is proper for our trannys.

Sorry for the long post but I thought they were all related sort of.

I can't find the receipt, but I bought one of the plastic ones for about $60 on ebay and it's not leaking.

I also bought a cheaper kit from eBay. Turned out the entire kit WITH the replacement screws was cheaper than a set of screws alone. No leaks...

I have no information on this bridge seal, but it seems like the stock seal has not been reported as a big problem on our cars. It seems to be more of a problem in the BMW world for some reason. Maybe BMW has more aggressive programming, who knows. The thing is that this is an area you likely will visit once, so there is pros and cons about putting a part of unknown track record, but at the same time looking mighty fine.

If you are going that deep by taking the valve body off, don't forget the (cheap) tube seals.

The metal pan seems like a good idea, but it is shaped differently and allows one less quart of fluid. It is likely meant for off-road applications, and very likely never tested on our cars by Jaguar. The fill procedure is also different on paper. Oh, and it takes different (shorter?) screws, too. The good part is that the filter can be replaced separately, but the cost of the plastic unit is not really a problem, as you discovered.

Best of luck, keep us posted.
