Default Valet switch disconnect?

Valet switch disconnect, any reason to not leave it unplugged? 2003 XK8. Have no valet key, so useless for this car. I have the panel down to repair the tilt motor as forum indicates. OK to leave it unplugged? Yes. or No

It's the same as leaving it connected and never pressing it, so I imagine the car won't care.

it will also remove the nuisance caused by accidentally hitting it with your knee (like the gas cap & trunk lid buttons )

After hitting mine with the knee for the 4th time the same day, I disconnected it and both me and the car has forgotten it for a year now :-)

I did the telescopic steering wheel repair a few years ago and left the valet switch disconnected. It made no difference to the car,

All three of mine are disconnected, valet key or no. As Michael noted, with it connected, you can go for the trunk/boot, gas cover, valet key trifecta with your nation-appropriate knee at the same time as you turn on the wipers with the other knee (quadfecta?). Apart from that...
