This is XKR 2.5\" setup This one is to compensate technical stuff above)

I am considering doing some muffler modes for better sound/performance on my XK8. Don't expect a lot of increase in hp, but would like a little better noise?? A little of the Old Hot Rodder still left.
I have done 2 different setups:
XK8: 2.25" 200cpsi Magnaflow CATS, 2.25" X-pipe, 2.25" red Magnaflow resonators, rear Magnaflow XL mufflers (empty, with turbo effect, as they say), 4" double wall tips. Result - really beautiful sound without drone, sometimes explosions, and when you go to manual mode sounds much better, especially while shifting down. Despite relatively inexpensive parts, altogether with labor costs about 2ooo EUR. From my opinion, it worth amount and efforts. From the other side, if to use only Adamesh overaxle pipes from ebay, it should sound beautiful as well (even if to delete only one pair of silencers before axle and leave everything else as it is). Or, delete this mentioned above pair of silencers, by replacing them with Adamesh pipes (about £180 + labor), and delete rear stock silencers, replacing them with another Adamesh pipes (another £180+), but add pair of Magnaflow resonators (approx £120 for pair), to avoid drone on high rpms. It must sound pure and powerful too. If I'm right, it will cost 3 times less with almost same effect. Stock central part is resonator +X-pipe, and when you delete everything else beyond it and add just resonator, it will be almost the same logic as racing version of Aston DB4 - it has just pair of approx. 40" long resonators, not sure about cats. Anyway, here is the image of new cats with stock O2 sensors, and everything else.
XKR: all Magnaflow 2.5": 200cpsi cats, X-pipe, short central resonator behind it, underaxle pipes leading to large resonators (I think it would be better to use smaller round ones).
That's the info I was looking for. I believe if you remove anything downstream from the O2 sensors, the ECU will read o.k. Hopefully some of the techs smarter than me can confirm/correct this. Looks like what you did worked well.
I am not trying for a full-on Hot Rod sound, just a little more growl when I accelerate occasionally. The 'Sport' mode on my F-Type does a nice job of this when I want it. Not so with the XK.
I think this will be my submission for our Club's 2020 Calendar contest. Only allowed one entry per car and so far this one of my three test shots is polling the best. (still uncropped or run through the digital darkroom)
I picked up this '99 2 weeks ago. My intentions are to do an LS conversion on it. It's a good solid car but cosmetically needs some TLC. This will be a multi-year retirement project.
The powertrain seems fine. It's had the timing chain work done. I flew up to CT and drove it 6 hours home and it ran great.
It's going to be a multi-year retirement project. A full "frame off" resto-mod.
+Ronnie,
Sorry, but if you wanted a Corvette, why didn't you Buy One and spend your money and time on it! Now that you have what appears to be another X-100, spend your time and "Money" rebuilding it to be a Jaguar....You can get all kinds of parts, such as Engines, Trannys and just about everything for the XK from several different Wrecking Yards and completely change the drive-train on this XK8. Put a 4.2 S/C Engine in it.....Anything to keep it a Jaguar....That will keep you busy.....
The Photo of the Convertible looks great...You've got a deal looking Car to start your project....!

Corvettes are cool but they just aren't my cup of tea. A 400+HP, 400+ft/lb X-100 on the other hand......
