Hi all,

I am having an issue with my Climate Control. The control/ display unit will only light up a few random if push on and auto and has no display. The lights then go off when any button is pressed!
Swapping for a known good unit had no change so the Climate Control ECU was suggested. I don't know where this is located however, can anyone point me in the right direction? I have searched on the forums but not been able to find anything.

The first thing we will need to know to be helpful is "what are you working on" model and year in your signature would make it easier to get assistance and you would not have to remember to type it in on each post. You can go to the USER CP at the top of the page and add the info to your signature.

Ah yes sorry. I though I had a signature set up. I will log into PC and sort.
It's a 1998 XKR Coupe.

Checking Sig!

 

So my signature works on the laptop but not mobile! Anyone have any ideas where I can find the climate control ecu on 1998 XKR? Found the body control module at passager side behind glove box.

According to the Electrical Guide for my 2001, its next to (left) the body control module on a LHD car (behind the steering wheel on a right hand drive car) - of course we don't know if you have a LHD or RHD vehicle. Have a look in the Electrical Guide for your model car if you can't find it.

 

BCM is behind the passenger air bag. I don't think you need to remove glove box but someone please check me on that.

Thanks guys, it's a RHD car. I've found the BCM which I reckon can get out with glove box in place, just not been able to locate the climate control ECU, will see if can find the electrical guide. Cheers.

 

On a RHD car the climate control ECU is not next to the BCM - its on the drivers side - its shown as to the left and behind the instrument pack. You definitely need to check this with a diagram for your model year car.

 

Was able to access from panel under steering wheel. Some contortions removed the screws and squeezed it out!
