Default Car back after 7 days was a wiring harness problem but...

Ok had my car for 4 days then it broke today 7 days later I get my car back. Driving home go to put it in dynamic and message says "special Modes not available " and it's not in valet mode and I recycled it a few times. Called the dealer and they said "you'll have to drop it off". Actually made me laugh. Ok so I have 23 more days until lemon law hits

Sorry to hear of the troubles with the car. I love mine - & luckily has been trouble free for 13 months.

Same here, and my condolences. There are lemons in every flock, but hopefully you'll get it straightened out soon.

What what what?

I suspect your saying there was a battery drain -which could have occurred as they left it in the bay with the trunk up etc. does this self correct?

My experience with low battery on modern cars is that the electronics could 'flip out' with all kinds of strange behaviour.
First remedy is to charge the battery and then the electronics need to be reset.
Also, as you had a wiring harness installed, it could be something to do with that.. anyway, likely an easy fix for the mechanic.
Hope you get to enjoy the car without too much more delay.
Lawrence.

My car has been in the shop 3 times since I've owned it for this exact same problem. First two times they checked the harness and ended up replacing the computer. Was good for about 6 months and then reappears a couple weeks ago. This time, they re-crimped every wire in the harness (again) and has been good so far for two weeks. We will see if that ultimately was the issue.

Wow, not giving me a warm fuzzy about the machine I have on order. The legends about the ancient Jags was that their electrical systems were sub-standard. I would hope that in the present day they may have overcome this.

I can assure you this is an anomaly. Lucas is dead.

I've been here for nearly a year, and there have been very few such gremlins reported and certainly no more than for any other luxury marque. I've had zero on my F-Type, and had many more on the 8 BMWs I've owned over the years.
