panoramic glass roof interior slide shade
I have a 2015 R with the panoramic glass roof. The interior slide shade has stopped sliding back and is not taut on the drivers side. Has this happened to anyone else and what was/is the fix?
Yeah, there's already a thread on here about this very issue.

The comment on that thread that really goes to a fix is from Jaguny "Car was returned today with new sunscreen assembly. Was told it would have been $1700 out of warranty. Service manager could not tell me what exactly was causing it to stick.though. Since iI didn't have the problem in previous years, I expect it could be thermal related but not sure."
Mine has the issue. I had the service guys lubricate the tracks when it was serviced a few weeks back but if I leave it closed for a few hours it gets stuck. The service guys said they would have to disassemble the lining to check it further, so I'm expecting $$.

If anyone wants a work-around for this problem, what I have found does the trick is to leave the cover open by about 10mm. Then if it doesnt want to slide back, slide it forward until it is fully closed, when then stops it sticking and it slides back fine.

I dont think there is an easy fix for this other than the full replacement.
The solid slide component with the handle attaches to the rails on both sides. At this point there is thin ribbon that runs to the front and presumably wraps around the rail and end up attaching to the back of the shade or the roller that the shade is attached too.
When this ribbon is taunt pulling the shade handle back actually causes the ribbon to pull the shade sail back which then pulls then handle back.
it is designed this way so the shade will stay in any position you leave it in.
If it had a spring loaded roller like a house roller blind it would continuously pull itself into the open position.
When the ribbon has stretched the laxity causes the shade not to pull back imediately, so the handle actually tries to push the shadecloth backwards causing creases in the shade directly behind it,causing big folds to bunch up in the rail and jaming it.You will see a bulge in the shade directly behind the cross piece when you try to open it when it is jammed. Some traction on the shadecloth several centimeter behind crease/bulge to straighten out the folds will allow it to open.
It may be possible to retighten the ribbon if there are adjustable pulleys in there somewhere but it would still requires a substantial teardown. It maybe possible to shorten the ribbon without teardown by applying a clip to the ribbon infront of the cross bar but that is only in theory
