05 Jaguar XJ8L transmission problem
Hello everyone my name is Rocko I own a 05 Jaguar XJ8L had it for about 2yrs now currently in Pennsylvania really didn't have much issues with this car other than the gearbox default comes and goes but it reset itself by turning ignition off then on.... Now my current situation is that I recently got my car jump after battery went dead after a few days of cold weather without starting ( happen twice when it gets to cold out) ..problem starts when car turns on and while holding down the brake pedal I shift it into drive after a few seconds in drive it jumps from drive to like a neutral stage and back to drive, on & off repeatedly ... No default lights come on or any kind of warning, I tried moving forward a little and car just jerks when it's trying to get bck in gear. . Got me puzzled like the car was running fine a few days ago now this,smh..Hopefully someone had the same problem that can be some help on trying to find out what went wrong. . Thanks Guys for any help on my transmission problem ....

How many kilometres/miles on the vehicle?
Based on your description, it appears to be a low voltage issue. With the ignition in the OFF position for at least ten minutes, there should be a minimum of 12.6 volts across the battery terminals. If not, charge the battery overnight at 5 to 10 amps and retest. If voltage is still below 12.6 volts, the battery should be replaced.
Many of the electrical faults chased on these forums are the result of a failing or weak battery. Low voltage can cause random DTCs and warnings.
