Hi all, I purchased a 2000 S Type 4.0 , check engine light was on so I cleaned the intake plumbing and cleaned the Throttle body without removing it , I also cleaned the Air Assist Control Valve , I drove the car around for about 20 miles then punched the gas and the check engine light turned off. Now the car has a Stumbling idle after the engine has reached normal temperature , I notice this at a stop light . The car accelerates with no problem but when I reach 45 mph the engine stumbles /stutters , I give it more gas and the problem stops and runs great...
Has anyone had this issue or can someone guide me in the right direction to fix this problem..?

A quickie repost in the S Type section should have answers, but a code read would be my first best guess, then specifics can be sorted.

Also mention the kms/miles travelled, age of coils/plugs/O2 sensors/etc.

Might also help to know where you are, as some markets have stuff that other markets do not.

 

I'm in Southern California. No codes are showing up. Spark plugs are good and correct coils are also clean..

 

My Jaghas 122,000 miles.

I would slos add:

Your location, different markets, different stuff.
Kms/miles travelled.
Any codes stored.
Service schedule regarding plugs/coils/O2 sensors/etc.
Battery age, Not funny, many STRANGE issues have been traced to a dying battery.

 

There was a p0065 code , cleaned MAF , throttle body, air assist valve.. I drove it 20 miles then gassed it on the freeway and check engine light turned off...

 

New battery. About a year old..

Most likely coil pack(s), which may or may not set a DTC and turn on the MIL. Do you know if the spark plugs have been replaced?

If you encounter a situation when the MIL begins flashing, continuing to drive under those conditions causes permanent damage to the catalytic converters.
