Default ECM from G13694 TO G12778?

Will I need to have an ECM from a 2004 xj8 G13694 vehicle re-programed for a 2004 xj8 G12778 vehicle?

Welcome to the forums.
You should probably ask your questions here. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ I think that's for your car.
This forum is just for introductions mostly. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Enjoy the drive.

Welcome to the forum DariAir,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

The ECM is a programmable module - it's not just a matter of compatability so the "right" module will still have to be re-programmed to the vehicle.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the X350 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-western-38/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

OK Thank You.
The window to ask a question came up before I joined. Now that I have access all the info I will get it right.
I just recently got a 2004 XJ8 4.2l 4dr that has issues. Every time I fix an error code another appears. I've replaced 2 coils from mis-fire errors , and all the injectors and connectors from lean errors . I also replaced the fuel pump and fuel rail pressure sensor . The left upstream ho2 sensor doesn't show voltage in the OBD2 app. So I switched the ho2's and checked wires. Now I'm getting P1647 so I think it's the ECM.
I live in sunny LA CA, I'm 51 just recently (12/9) got hit on the freeway on my 92 FXSTC Harley (total loss). I got the JAG because my left leg was broken and couldn't drive a stick or ride with the 10 screws and metal plate I now have in my shoulder (collar bone). The lady that hit me didn't have insurance so it's a good thing I did!
That is a nice ride !! supercharged awesome!! Rhomanski.

Sorry to hear about your recent woes with the Harley. Sounds extremely painful.

A failed ECM is very unusual. If the HO2 sensors are known to be OK, then a harness fault is much more likely. X350 owners will have opinions and advice in the model forum.

Sorry for your Harley. They have a way of becoming your best friend. I knew a guy that used to sleep with his. Of course his neighborhood wasn't very good so he kept it in the bedroom.

Love that supercharger!

Enjoy the drive.
