Forgot my into...
Forgot my into... I am new here obviously. Never drove a jag untill few months ago, I love driving it. Normally do work on my own vehicles, but never worked in a forgiven car. I'm glad I found this site, I hope to use it more and be able to help others as I learn more about the car...
I'm here on behalf of my girlfriend. She has a 01' Jaguar s-type 3.0.
She has been having idling problems, then trans problems, then finally power issues. When I ran my code reader on it it came back with a P1633 which is keep alive voltage issues. After some research I have narrowed it down to a computer issue. It does have 190k miles on it with a rebuild trans. Just put in a brand new battery few months ago. My question is, is the PCM bad or could it be something else with it. Not sure if this is a common issue or not.
thanks for any help
Tom

Welcome to the forum Tom,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
The other possible cause of P1633 is vehicle battery voltage low. I'd eliminate this before concluding a PCM fault. These vehicles need regular driving or keeping on a battery tender. CTEK's are the preferred option with members.
Follow Norri's link in post #2 to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
