Default Intro - I NEED HELP!

I recently bought a 1990 jaguar xj40 4.0 with a problem, it stalls, and has a rough idle from time to time.
the previous owner changed the fuel filter and fuel pump.
I have fixed the MAF sensor which was not working, i also fixed the fuel injectors that were leaking, and changed the spark plugs.
so far nothing has changed, the car works great for a period and then just goes rough and drops in rpm, has a hard time recovering and sometimes just stalls.
there is no check engine light.
what should I do?

Welcome to the forums Jaguar xj40 1990 4.0,

My first thought is CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor) but I'll leave it to other members with current or considerably more recent experience of this model than myself.

I can see you've already found your way to the XJ40 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
