Default Longstone Tyres

Hi

I run Longstone Tyres, and am an inerrant old car buff. I race a 1959 Lotus Elite, and a Chain Gang Frazer Nash. I have 2 Model A Fords, quite manky but i trial them with the VSCC. i also have an Austin 7 Chummy and a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 1

On the Jag front i have had a Daimler V8 Saloon which i loved, but for some reason sold. I also had a late Series 3 XJ12 saloon. Also completely epic. I don't really know why i sold that either. I now have a 2001 XJR, which is a rocket ship. i also have quite a horrible 3.2 Daimler Limousine from 1997. It is kind of awful, but also a lot of fun. I have got 3 boys who have friends and it is the idea Crew bus.

here is a fun film of my kids in Austin 7s
unfortunately not a swallow, but a tenuous link.

granted the majority of my posts will be tyre related. However i hope they will e helpful to people, as i do actuially know a thing or 2 about classic tyres and hopefully will be able to keep you up to date with what is available.

What drove me to join now was the fact that Pirelli have just made a new range of tyres for Jaguar at Jaguars request. It is actually the P5 tyre that Jaguar asked to be made back in the 1970s as tey wanted a tyre specially for their Luxury cars. Pirelli have made them again and Jaguar have tested them and awarded them the J homologation.

My apologies it is all a bit commercial, but hopefully you will find me useful

Welcome. Tires are almost as dangerous a topic as oil preference.

Welcome to the forums Nasher,

That's terrible news about the P5's. I did hope Jaguar had left them where they belong in the 70's together with water soluble cars.

Please be careful with the boundary between discussion and promotion and if in doubt, ask.

Graham

Well just for fun here is vintage top gear volume 2

We made these films because i was concerned we portrayed an overly corporate image.

I have emailed the powers that be with an interest in becoming a commercial poster.

there is stuff you guys should know really. for instance we now actually have a good crossply for XK owners, where one hasn't been around for a few years now.
